POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Marketing Specialist to manage and optimize our presence across online travel agency (OTA) platforms such as Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com for our vacation rental properties in Maui and Newport Beach. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and visibility of our property listings while identifying opportunities to improve channel performance and increase bookings.
The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position requires both technical proficiency and strategic thinking, along with the initiative to solve problems independently and contribute to cross-functional marketing efforts. Responsibilities also include onboarding new properties and supporting additional marketing initiatives as needed.
We welcome applications from both local and remote candidates. Priority will be given to candidates able to work on-site at our Newport Beach, CA office. Remote candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of successful remote work experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Channel Management & Optimization
- Maintain accurate, consistent listings across all OTA platforms for Maui and Newport Beach properties
- Conduct regular audits of listing details including photos, amenities, pricing, and policies
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve listing performance and visibility
- Monitor competitor positioning and market trends across channels
- Explore and experiment with emerging tools, including AI, to streamline tasks and enhance listing
Technical Operations & Problem Solving
- Troubleshoot listing discrepancies and reservation issues across platforms
- Collaborate with reservations and technical teams to resolve API integration challenges
- Work with marketing team to create and maintain property listings in our management software
- Ensure seamless data flow between our systems and OTA platforms
Partnership & Communication
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OTA account representatives
- Coordinate with channel partners to leverage promotional opportunities
- Escalate and resolve technical issues with platform support teams
- Stay current on platform updates, policy changes, and new features
Growth & Expansion Support
- Support marketing initiatives including content creation, SEO optimization, and social media
- Assist with guest review management and response strategies
- Contribute to email marketing campaigns and performance analysis
- Adapt to evolving business priorities as the company scales
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a marketing, e-commerce, or digital operations role
- Strong written communication skills, with examples of content creation, reporting, or campaign documentation
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with accuracy
- Comfortable working independently and solving problems without step-by-step guidance
- Quick adaptability to new digital tools, platforms, or software
- High attention to detail, especially in data entry, platform setup, or campaign execution
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field (preferred but not required for exceptional candidates)
- Familiarity with vacation rental platforms such as Airbnb, Vrbo, or Booking.com
- Experience with property management systems (e.g., Guesty, Hostaway) or CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
- Working knowledge of Google Analytics 4
- Hands-on experience with SEO, link building, or other digital marketing strategies
- Proficiency in email marketing platforms like Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or Constant Contact
- Exposure to AI tools or marketing automation platforms
- Basic graphic design (e.g., Canva) or data analysis (e.g., Excel, Looker Studio) skills
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Annual Salary: $68,000 - $75,000 based on experience
