In this role, you’ll handle a variety of maintenance tasks—including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance troubleshooting, and general property upkeep—with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.

You’ll thrive here if you’re someone who communicates clearly, stays organized, and takes pride in doing the job right the first time. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to use mobile apps and digital tools to track work, and a commitment to sharing updates proactively with the team.

The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. You’ll collaborate closely with housekeeping, operations, and other team members to ensure every home meets our standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort. A friendly, respectful attitude—whether interacting with guests or colleagues—is essential.

Please note: This role requires driving between multiple locations and Upkey properties, often throughout the day. Being punctual, prepared, and organized will be key to your success. • Perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance troubleshooting, and basic HVAC. Deliver high-quality work with efficiency, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Complete and document work orders using mobile apps/tools, ensuring clear, timely communication about progress, needs, or unexpected issues.
  • Conduct routine property inspections, proactively identifying maintenance needs and addressing them before they impact the guest experience.
  • Respond to in-home service requests with professionalism and courtesy, providing a calm, solution-focused presence for guests and communicating clearly about timelines and resolutions.
  • Work collaboratively with housekeeping, operations, and the rest of the Upkey team to ensure each home is guest-ready and meets our quality standards.
  • Maintain organized tools, supplies, and workflows, keeping materials in good condition and ensuring smooth transitions between tasks and properties.
  • Follow all safety procedures and best practices, prioritizing safety for yourself, guests, and team members at all times.
  • Demonstrate reliability and dependability, consistently showing up prepared, on time, and ready to support the team.

Qualifications — What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience or equivalent technical training, with solid skills in general repairs, troubleshooting, and property upkeep.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using smartphones, apps, and digital work-order systems to communicate, track tasks, and document work.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear updates, ask the right questions, and collaborate effectively with both guests and team members.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and organized, capable of managing tasks independently while staying aligned with team priorities.
  • Team-oriented mindset, willing to coordinate with operations, housekeeping, leadership, and vendors to maintain consistent property standards.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, a smartphone, and a standard set of tools.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, representing Upkey Rentals with courtesy and respect in all interactions.
